TML Cricket Remembers Terrence and Felix, our long standing committee members.

Terrance Ali has served on the cricket committee since its inception.

He was the head of our disciplinary Committee and was instrumental in promoting our most prestigious Award, “TML Cricket Spirit of the Tournament Award”.

  • This award is presented to the team that have displayed the highest level of honesty, respect shown towards opponents, officials, umpires, teammates and spectators,
  • Teams that showed excellent knowledge of the rules
  • Teams that accept victory and defeat with grace
  • Teams that had the full support of their Imam and members of their Jamaat.
  • Teams that responded to the call to prayer and attended short talks.

From today, I am happy to announce that this award will be named in his honour:
“The Terrance Ali, TML Cricket Spirit of the Tournament Award”.

He has also was the concessioner’s provider funly called “Terrence Terrace” for many years, after which ill health forced him to retire.

In addition he has served the MCU and Takaaful from their inception as well as being an instrumental Eid-Gah committee member since the mid 80’s.

He is seen as a visionary among muslim pioneering efforts. May Almighty Allah, SWT, grant him janat ul firdus.

Carl Felix, originally from Sangre Grande, was employed at the TML for over 32 years, primarily as a janitor. When he retired at age 60, he continued in the same role at the TML Islamic Educational Centre.

Felix distinguished himself as an honest, industrious, dedicated and reliable employee of the TML. He was always popular with all the students, players, officials and spectators. He has left a void in the operation on the sporting activities for which the TML has become a popular venue.

Felix was our head groundsman and janitor from 2005 to present. He ensured that our playfield was cleaned and manicured, our scoreboards flood lights and audio system operational, our washrooms stocked and cleaned on all playing days.

Felix was always very updated on local politics and amazed us all with his depth of knowledge.

Felix will be laid to rest at the Tunapuna Cemetery on Wednesday 5th February, 2025 following a short ceremony at the TML Educational Centre, Eastern Main Road, St. Joseph at 3.30 pm

May Almighty Allah, SWT forgive him for his mistakes.
