T&T and West Indies ace spinner Sunil Narine will be on hand to open the 2016 TML Cricket at the TML Centre, Eastern Main Road, St. Joseph at 8.30 pm tonight. Narine will bowl the first ball to signal the opening of the tournament and sign a few autographs for the youth players. Former T&T cricketer and footballer Mr. Alvin Corneal will also address the audience at the Opening Ceremony .
All 26 teams representing their various Jamaats across T&T will line up in front the officials and sponsors. TML Premier League defending champions Endeavour Jamaat and last year Championship League winners Warrenville Jamaat will open the tournament at 9.15 pm. Current T&T cricketers playing in the Professional Cricket League Regional Four-Day championships against the Leeward Islands will also be in attendance.
TML Cricket has added a Masters League to the existing Fun (Youth) League, Premier League and Championship Leagues. The TML Masters League will feature players 40 years and over representing East, West, North and South Trinidad.
TML Cricket has pioneered the implementation of advance technology such as; Third Umpire Slow Motion Replay Technology of which the results are shown live on the “big” Screen Scoreboard. Digital Apple iPad App Technology for Scoring, the detailed score sheet is then uploaded on the website. A functional website; tmlcricket.com where you can view team photos, fixtures, detailed score sheets, group standings, prizes, rules etc. Electronic “big” Screen Scoreboard; displaying the scores and team names etc. Seating for approx 200 spectators and sumptuous food in our cafe are in store nightly.
Games continue every Friday and Saturday nights from 6.30 pm till May 14th 2016.
